\t\t\t\tClay Gibson<\/strong>\u00a0observed\u00a0about a story of great potential significance making news this week: Eddie “Piol\u00edn” Sotelo, one of the most popular morning talents in America and host\u00a0of the prior top-rated morning show radio program in Los Angeles, signed to do a daily podcast show with PodcastOne<\/a>.\nWhile this Piol\u00edn podcast is likely not quite the kind of turning point that the hiring of\u00a0Howard Stern was for Sirius Satellite Radio, it has the possibility to\u00a0greatly raise the profile of podcasting among\u00a0 Hispanics.\u00a0Until now, podcasting is much better known among Whites and\u00a0African-Americans than among the Hispanic population. The\u00a0Infinite Dial 2015 report<\/a> stated that awareness of podcasting is being significantly held back by the low number\u00a0among Hispanics. And while Hispanics are slightly less likely to be online\u00a0or to have smartphones, this does not explain nearly all of the difference\u00a0in the graph above.
